- 1 button quake style drop down terminal window.
Katapult
- Katapult is an application for KDE, written in C++, designed to allow faster access to applications, bookmarks, and other items. It is plugin-based, so it can launch anything that is has a plugin for. It was inspired by Quicksilver for OS X.

- Small and fast caching web proxy.
lsof
- Lsof is a Unix-specific diagnostic tool. Its name stands for LiSt Open Files, and it does just that. It lists information about any files that are open by processes currently running on the system. It can also list communications open by each process.
PKGsrc
- Centralized package management system for Unix-like operating systems.
xPDF
- Open source viewer for Portable Document Format (PDF) files. A good alternative to Adobes software.
xCHM
- xCHM is a cross-platform GUI front-end to chmlib.

cacti
- Complete frontend to RRDTool, it stores all of the necessary information to create graphs and populate them with data in a MySQL database. The frontend is completely PHP driven.
fail2ban
- Scans log files like /var/log/pwdfail or /var/log/apache/error_log and bans IP that makes too many password failures. It updates firewall rules to reject the IP address.
monit
- Utility for managing and monitoring, processes, files, directories and devices on a UNIX system.
fdupes
- Program for identifying or deleting duplicate files residing within specified directories.
